EP by EP - SULLIVANS' CROSSING

I would like to start a new feature where episode by episode, I will express my views on the current season of the TV series in question. These will not be real reviews, but simply thoughts, and I will talk to you just as if I were talking about it to my bf . So if on some occasions I will be a little rude, sorry.

This will be the first TV series I will be hosting in this feature, so sorry for the premise.

🚩This page contains spoilers, if you continue it is at your own risk🚩

SULLIVAN'S CROSSING SEASON 2

Setting: Nova Scotia (Canada) - Agricola Street in North End, Halifax./ Shubie Park in Dartmouth / Beaver Bank Road in Beaver Bank / East Lawrencetown, Nova Scotia / Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia.

Main CastMorgan Kohan (When Hope Calls)  as Maggie Sullivan

Chad Michael Murray (One three hill) as Cal Jones

Scott Patterson (Girlmore Girls) as 'Sully' Sullivan

Andrea Menard (Supernatural) as Edna Cranebear

Tom Jackson (North of 60) as Frank Cranebear

Amalia Williamson (Northern Rescue) as Lola Gunderson

Season 2 ep. 1 "Guilt Trip"

The new season opens with Maggie rushing to the hospital after Sully's sudden illness, already anticipated in the season 1 finale.

Cal also returns following the news.

It is not a particularly interesting first episode, in my opinion.

Lola is as unnerving as the first season, if not more so. With her delusions of grandeur and a father-daughter relationship that Sully continues to nurture regardless. In my opinion, this is not the best approach to rebuilding the relationship with his real daughter.

The baby daddy (?), Andrew, makes a small and unnecessary appearance for about 1 minute, nothing memorable. He is as indifferent and snooty as in the last season.

Nothing to say about Maggie's mother and stepfather, I hate them too.

Cal suddenly becomes the diner's new plumber. Why? Why not find him a place in the camp, considering that Sully is currently out of the picture?

 Season 2 ep.2 - A storm is brewing

This new season did not start with particularly interesting episodes from the point of view of surprises that, punctually occur in the last 5 minutes of the episode. This episode is no exception, flat start, a few scenes of heroics by Cal towards Maggie. Then we have the unmissable scene of Rob's son being a bit of a rebel, and Edna's pep talk to Frank where she mentions that besides her husband, Sully is the only family she has. We get it, Edna, you've reminded us in at least 5 out of 12 episodes.

Of course, it was all too good to keep Lola "the family breaker" from popping up.

In the end, the interesting and funny part, was when Frank "kidnapped" Sully from the hospital.

Maggie and Cal who, after a decade, realize that Sully had a history of alcoholism and that, loa false diagnosis of alzheimer's, and his memory lapses, might be due to his drinking again.

Of Meggie's pregnancy announcement, still no inkling. We'll keep you updated in the next episode
